Since this series is based on a world of games it’s obvious that there were many games released after it for the fans to play too. There are a variety of games for different platforms. Let’s take a look at what games we can play on PlayStation 4!

Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment was first released for PlayStation Vita and it was the most downloaded game in North America on that platform in 2014. Following this success, a PlayStation 4 version of the game was released in 2015. with the title Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment. This game is divided into two parts, the first part is about clearing dungeons, while the second part is a new “Hollow Area”, which allows multiplayer and new items, quests, mobs etc. The user plays Kirito. The game includes the characters from the anime and some new, original characters. If you want to experience something similar to what the characters felt while playing Sword Art Online I suggest you try out this game!

Sword Art Online: Lost Song

This game is available on variety of platforms: PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. It is set in an alternative ALfheim Online. It uncovers a new area that can be explored called Svart Alfheim, which is composed of a bunch of floating continents. It is close to the World Tree. The game is story rich and it takes around 20-30 hours to complete. Unlike in Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, the players are able to play other characters than Kirito and can even create their own custom characters, however the story still progresses as if you’re playing as Kirito. In this game you can fight air battles, just like in the ALfheim from the novels/anime! This game was so well received that it was given the Golden Prize at the PlayStation Awards in 2016. So if you have the possibility, buy it and try it yourself!

There are 3 more SAO games available for PS4: Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, Accel World VS Sword Art Online: Millennium Twilight and Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet. I talked about them in my Sword Art Online PC games post, so go check it out if you want to know more about the SAO games!
